Our Brand
nape textiles is a luxury label. Kay Muir created the brand because of her love of illustration. Each design starts as a line drawing and is completed digitally to allow repeat patterns that can be rescaled to meet client needs.
The ethos of the brand is to design textiles that are then printed to order to reduce the chance of waste. Designs are available in different weights of fabric to suit customer projects. Please visit the online shop to view an array of designs. Kay also loves to work with customers to create a bespoke fabric for a special project.
The brand was launched in 2017 when designer Kay Muir was inspired to turn her love of sketching into wearable art when on a weekend away with friends on the Isle of Cumbrae. This has now evolved to include upholstery design. Kay has an honours degree in textile design from The Scottish College of Textiles - Borders Campus and has over 30 years experience in the textile industry and as a design tutor working in education in Glasgow.
If you want to commission a special 'one-off' design please use the contact facility to request a price for art-work, this will take into account the final cost of printing the fabric. You might have an event coming up, such as a special birthday, a wedding, or simply 'just because'. This can be done by working together to create something entirely new or by personalising an existing design.
