I knew I wanted a peacock themed fabric to line our 1930s cocktail cabinet, but wasn't sure exactly what form that might take. Kay designed 2 fabulous panels which fitted the shape of the cabinet perfectly, and included the peacocks and my much loved agapanthus. The cabinet takes pride of place in our newly renovated home, as the panels have transformed it into a very special piece of furniture.

I was new to the upholstery world. I bought a few antique chairs at a yard sale and started creating. I had a client reach out to me with a very specific request. She wanted a chair to put in her guest room at the beach. Not any chair, but one with coral flamingo upholstery that matched her bedspreads. When posting on a Facebook chair site that I needed fabric with a coral flamingo, Kay Muir reached out to me. After collaborating from North Carolina, USA to Kay’s home in Scotland, my client and I agreed on a beautiful coral flamingo fabric designed especially for us. Thanks to Kay and her willingness to help a rookie upholsterer, the very unique chair now sits in my client’s beautiful home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, USA.

My family and I wanted to get something for my Mum's 60th that she could treasure forever and kay rose to the challenge by designing such a beautiful silk scarf. She took inspiration from nature by incorporating butterflies and flowers, using my Mum's favourite colours as well. She hid little personal messages within the design to make the scarf truly one of a kind! She was over the moon to receive such a personal gift and we can't thank Kay enough for her service.
